Summary
As a result of the diminishing impact of Christianity in the Western world today, other religions have started to find their way into this vacuum. A particular example of this are some currents within the Islam, which are fuelled by fundamentalist aggressiveness. This book is a contribution to the so-called clash of civilizations of today, a part of which is being contested on a political level. However from the point of view of the Western world, it is absolutely necessary to bring about an intellectual discussion between Christianity and the other so-called world religions. Kurt Hübner rejects the epochal error that Christianity has lost its right to exist in the modern world. He compares Christianity critically with the other great religions. On the other hand he rejects relativism and pluralism, both of which are commonly found today in religions, and he shows the ways in which Christianity is tolerant of other religions.
