When it comes to clarifying the legal requirements of the »media privilege«, which basically exempts the media from data protection, Matthias Cornils finds that there is scope missing in the new opening clauses of Art. 85 of the EU's Data Protection Regulation. Germany's exemptions for the press and electronic media will remain permissible in the future.
