Summary
This volume documents the diverse and numerous activities undertaken by the German Foundations and their umbrella organisation, the Federal Association of German Foundations, between 1988 and 1998. It was during this time that German reunification took place, and along with it the revival of foundations in the new federal states and the discussion surrounding the need for a reform of the law pertaining to foundations, in particular the sections on fiscal law and their status as non-profit organizations. The authors describe general developmental tendencies among foundations as well as the particular developments in the law pertaining to foundations in the various federal states.
