Eine Verfassung für Europa

In this volume, renowned researchers from various disciplines discuss an historic event: the making of the European constitution. The authors examine the constitutional concept from a philosophical, economic, political and legal point of view and question its historical dimension and its updating in Europe. In view of the expansion on May 1, 2004, friends and teachers at the Andrassy University in Budapest, where the language is German, met to question the identity of Europe, to assess the structure of the enlarged European Union and to try to analyze the choice of constitution and the constitutional changes from an economic, political and legal standpoint. The book provides an interdisciplinary and controversial discussion concerning a constitution for Europe on the eve of European reunification.
