Summary
This collection of articles contains introductions to classic Protestant homiletic programs in the works of Luther, Carpzov, Spener, Mosheim, Schleiermacher, Christlieb, Palmer, Niebergall, Barth, Hirsch and Lange. The authors reconstruct each of the homiletic concepts systematically according to their basic motifs, their main ideas and their embedment in the author's general theological thinking. In doing so, they make it possible for the reader to learn more about the Protestant theory of sermons on his own and to gain a more diversified understanding of its details.
