Friedrich Carl von Savigny was unfortunately not able to publish the second edition of his famous main work System of Modern Roman Law as planned. For the first time, this volume provides an annotated transcription of Savigny's own additions and corrections. Almost 150 years after Savigny's death it will now be possible to study the 'new edition' of this masterpiece.
