Summary
The German laws on gambling and betting have for years been characterized by the bigotry of a government which moralizes about this and at the same time makes money on it. The reform ideas intiated by European law regarding an appropriate regulation of the sports betting law, taking into account European law, public law, private law and criminal law were the subject of the papers and the discussions held at the 3rd Sports Law Conference in Cologne, the findings of which are presented in this book.
