Von Ursprung und Ziel der Europäischen Union

Despite its historic achievements, the European Union is in a state of crisis. Wars in the immediate vicinity, floods of refugees, the threat of terrorism, cyber attacks, increasing centrifugal forces as well as concerns about the strength of the economy compound the unsolved fundamental problems of over-regulation and democratic legitimation. Questions of EU self-conception and the goal of integration, the acceptance of these are more pressing than ever. These questions are highlighted from various disciplines in this volume.
