This book is a collection of articles from a Strasbourg symposium held by professors of the Universities of Strasbourg, Tübingen and Uppsala in 2002. The book deals with the complex subject of the »Meal of God« from the perspectives of the history of the Middle Eastern and Jewish-Hellenistic religions, biblical exegesis, patristics, the history of the Reformation and of medieval Judaism.
