Florian A.G. Lützen examines the concept of religion (dīn) in the works of Aḥmad Ibn ʿAjība (d. 1224/1809) and the manner in which he synthesizes Sufism and theology. He demonstrates how Ibn ʿAjība, building on his tradition, conceives of theology centered on Sufism without excluding the other religious disciplines.
