Press Release
All 109 of Mohr Siebeck's active book series have been accepted into the international citation database Scopus. As a rule, the indexing promptly covers the past five years (from 2020 onwards), with earlier volumes included in some cases.
Scopus is the world’s largest abstract and citation database for peer-reviewed scholarly literature. Inclusion follows an external academic evaluation process and reflects the scholarly quality of the indexed series.
For authors, Scopus indexing significantly enhances international visibility and provides recognized documentation for grant applications and academic evaluations. The indexed series represent the full breadth of the Mohr Siebeck publishing program, including Theology, Classics, Jewish Studies, Law, Philosophy, Economics, and History.
“Mohr Siebeck publications have always met the highest quality standards. But now, with all the series being part of the international indexing system Scopus of Elsevier, there is an enormous benefit for our authors. Wherever scholars are evaluated by using quotation counts or impact factors, or publications are used for rating of scholarly output and tenure procedures, they can now take advantage of the recognition of the worldwide indexing service”, says Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. Jörg Frey, Managing Editor of Wissenschaftliche Untersuchungen zum Neuen Testament.
“We are delighted that Scopus has recognized the high relevance and quality of our book series and that they will soon be available to all Scopus users worldwide. We would like to thank Professor Frey and the many other editors for their excellent scholarly curation of our book series,” emphasizes Ove Kähler, Managing Director of Mohr Siebeck.
The indexed series include, among others, Jus Privatum (JusPriv), Die Einheit der Gesellschaftswissenschaften (EdG), Wissenschaftliche Untersuchungen zum Neuen Testament (WUNT), Texte und Studien zu Antike und Christentum (TSAJ), and Collegium Metaphysicum (CM).
With all submitted series and numerous non-series book titles indexed, Mohr Siebeck is among the humanities publishers whose book portfolios are represented particularly comprehensively in Scopus.
