In this paper, the author asks whether and under which circumstances a long-term relationship that is not legally recognized can be regarded as marriage in the Christian sense. He reaches the conclusion that marriage from a Christian point of view has its foundation neither in the law nor in a romantic feeling of love but in faith and the spirit of love.
