In the process of secularization, »the sacred« has transformed and emigrated into contexts which are not explicitly religious. If theology hopes to foster a relationship between this new secular-sacred constellation and the Christian tradition, it would prove helpful to introduce a third, intermediary term. To this end, the following essay explores the plausibility of the term »Unverfügbarkeit« – unavailability.
