Summary
This article reviews literature on Ecosocialism published over the last four years. Three central tenets and nine arguments are ideal-typically analyzed andcriticized. The approaches vary from Eco-Marxism to Eco-Socialism and Techno-Communism whose arguments are based in different degrees on a reinterpretation of the Marxist tradition (II.). They primarily refer to a conception of nature as threatened natura naturata in order to derive urgent historical and current political tasks for the future of the human species (III.). All these approaches are evaluated from the perspective of a critical-pragmatic theory of nature (IV.) which recalls the notion of an unavailability of nature as productive and autopoietic natura naturans (V.).
