This essay presents a sketch of the task of Christian theology in times of the pandemic. Such task is based on the contribution of New Testament exegesis. In this context, particular reference is made to Paul's »theology of hope« which – seen in its ancient context and its rootedness in Christology and eschatology – opens up for a fresh understanding of Theology.
