Übersetzungen spätantiker Kommentarliteratur und verwandter Texte. Die Reihe Ancient Commentators on Aristotle

Since 1987 the series Ancient Commentators on Aristotle, ed. by Richard Sorabji and Michael Griffin, London u. a., Bloomsbury Academic, 2016–2020, presents translations of commentaries on Aristotle from the Imperial Age and Late Antiquity. Commentaries on Plato and systematic treatises have meanwhile joined the »Aristotelian« project. The series encourages a dissemination of the philosophical ideas of the »commentators« in modern-day philosophy and a higher engagement of contemporary debates with the questions and insights of late antique thinkers. In this review some recent and representative titles have been chosen for a brief discussion: a Neoplatonic monograph, a commentary on Aristotle, a commentary on Plato and a collection of »specialistic« studies of the quaestiones et solutiones-genre.
