Summary
Nobuyoshi Kiuchi examines the Hebrew terms hata' and hatta't (commonly translated 'sin') in Leviticus 4-5. He proposes a revision of the common meaning of this term: 'Sin' in the Bible consequently is existential and it is essentially not concerned with an act or conduct, but with a condition of one's heart.
