The present volume gathers contributions on otiose leisure that form a methodological constellation and thus render this vague term more tangible. The essayistic approaches taken by the authors to look at desires, pathologies, how time is best whiled away, working practices, asceticism, prayer, and (self-)restraint help lead to a better understanding of what leisure is.
