Apokalyptik als Herausforderung neutestamentlicher Theologie

In addition to an introduction of the subject, this collection includes twelve essays which focus on the reception and the impact of apocalyptic ideas and concepts in a New Testament and early Christian, pagan, Jewish and systematic-theological context. The subjects dealt with range from the significance of apocalypticism for understanding the historical Jesus to articles on classical New Testament texts, early Christian writings from the New Testament environment, Greek eschatology and the early rabbinical reception of apocalyptic ideas. At the conclusion of the volume there is a description of a controversial discussion in the history of exegesis and a current view of the problems from a systematic-theological perspective.
