Summary
100 years after the publication of Max Weber's famous study »The Protestant Ethic and the 'Spirit' of Capitalism«, the discussion surrounding this work is still very much alive. Scholars engaged in this discussion did not, however, always examine the context of the study, especially the impact of the relationship between Max Weber and Ernst Troeltsch on it. The articles in this volume, the result of a symposium on Weber and Troeltsch, which took place in the spring of 2004, focus on this somewhat neglected relationship.
