Autonomie und Normativität

Autonomy and normativity are key concepts of today's world. Nevertheless their significance for the legitimation of modern communities has remained controversial. The substantiation for this is based either on the individualistic model of the philosophy of the Enlightenment or on the priority given to the community in the sense of a political romanticism. Hegel believed both positions to be inadequate. He does insist that the personality is the result of a process of communitization and thus from a normative standpoint is close to individualism, but did not however follow the path of a »romantic communitarianism.« In this book, it is the author's intention to contrast this view of Hegel's not only with traditional interpretations of Hegel but also to confront it with the positions in legal philosophy which are dominant today.
