European law is having an increasing impact not only on substantive law but on procedural law as well. This development was brought about not only by the implementation of an integrated market but also by the development of European minimum standards. In this volume, the authors use rules of evidence as an example to illustrate the Europeanization of the law in its practical application. It includes the papers presented at the third Jean Monnet Workshop at the University of Giessen in Germany. The papers cover civil, criminal and administrative law, both from an academic as well as from a practitioner's perspective.
