Summary
How can we have full employment and stabilize the basis for the social security systems? Johann Eekhoff shows that better solutions will have to be found at the transition point between the labour market and the social systems and that many populist ways of thinking lead in the wrong direction. There is enough work and a reduction in working hours will cause a deterioration in affluence. An advance in productivity will make work easier and will cause an increase in affluence. Thus not less, but rather more, competition is necessary. Full employment and reliable social security systems can not be obtained by taking only one measure but by making a multitude of solid changes. The 4th edition is completely revised and expanded.
