Michael Schröder investigates all relevant parts of the Old Testament and ancient Jewish writings to find out how the phrase »Galilee of the Gentiles« (Mt. 4, 15) is to be understood. It becomes apparent that this is above all a theological statement. In Galilee all promises are fulfilled and it demonstrates that the gentiles can also belong to God's people.
