Summary
In this third of four volumes on the concept of 'life,' the authors analyze racial ideology and genetics as well as the definition of euthanasia in the first half of the 20th century in order to analyze the ideologically conscious history of so-called 'biopolitics'. In addition, they deal with the emerging sociopolitical attempts in the second half of the 20th century to gain control of the purpose in life in times of increasing prosperity and globalization as well as in view of the threat posed by the Cold War.
