In his interpretation of the Fourth Gospel, Joachim Ringleben focuses on the relationship between the Logos from the beginning to the Logoi of Jesus, taking the approach of linguistic theology and linguistic philosophy. In an analysis of the main texts and their linguistic form, he shows that the prologue is reflected almost everywhere in the gospel and that the gospel constantly presupposes this.
Verse 1:18b at the end of the prologue, with the key word »exegesato,« is the beginning of the transition to the gospel itself as a gospel of speeches. Thus this proves to be affected consistently by the systematic theory that it is the eternal Logos itself speaking everywhere where the human Jesus speaks. As a result of this, the »ego-eimi« phrases are given special theological significance.
