Der Besondere Teil der chinesischen Zivilrechtskodifikation

In this day and age, a codification of a complete civil law is a rarity. Nevertheless, the Chinese legislator decided to codify the first Civil Law Code in the history of the People's Republic of China within an ambitious timeframe. The General Rules of the Civil Law of the People's Republic had already been enacted in mid-March 2017. By the end of 2020, the codification of its remaining books - the laws of property, personality rights, obligations, marriage and family, and succession - is to be completed. In September 2018, the initial draft of these five books was promulgated by the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress, while a second was published in early 2019. This collection refers to both drafts and primarily contains contributions presented at a Chinese-German Institute for Law (CDIR) alumni event that took place in November 2018 at the University of Freiburg.
