In this work, Marcel Bartnik examines how a person's likeness can be used in the press, the radio or in Internet publications. The European unification process has made it even more important to be informed about the legal systems in other countries, and the obvious choice for comparison is France as Germany's neighbor to the west. The author studies the French legal system and compares various French laws on this subject to those in Germany. He takes a critical look at the latest developments and trends in both countries and elaborates on their differences as well as on their common ground.
