This study is the first comprehensive attempt at showing how event ontology is an ontology of time and all that time involves. Instead of regarding events as one of many kinds of entities, Bertram Kienzle shows that it is in fact the central category, to which all types of inanimate and animate nature as well as all natural persons belong. Nature is replete with events that have a spatial dimension, while natural persons are events that have not only a spatial but also a social dimension. After reconstructing the nature and identity of natural individuals and persons in the set-theoretical language of event ontology, the author concludes his study with a new kind of modal logic of being, actuality and existence.
