Summary
The increased consideration of individual privacy found in the conflict of laws reaches into the areas of marital, family, and inheritance law and is coupled with the topical issue of protecting the individual in a globalised world characterised by the exchange of information. In view of these two factors, the contributions in this volume address comparative and historical foundations of private international law, methodological questions of the European conflict of laws, and conflicts of interest in cross-border constellations.
