The book offers a well-grounded introduction to the theology of Martin Luther from a problem-historical and systematic perspective. It treats methodological problems of interpreting Luther as well as the current state of research and the emergence of Luther’s reformational theology. With Luther’s view of God, his image of Christ, the anthropology arising from his reformational fundamental idea, his understanding of the church, and his eschatology, fundamental themes of his theology are discussed with a view to their context in the history of his work and of problems.
