Summary
The collection of decisions of the Bundesverfassungsgericht is one of the most influential and most cited periodicals in German jurisprudence. It contains all senate decisions of the Federal Constitutional Court (BVerfG) in unabridged form. Starting with the founding of the court in 1951, the collection is now supplemented several times each year with new volumes. In the abbreviated citation »BVerfGE«, it is familiar to every German lawyer and is even considered by many to be the official collection. Among the highlights of the collection are the much-cited decisions of Elfes (BVerfGE 6, 32) and Lüth (BVerfGE 7, 198), the decisions on abortion (BVerfGE 39, 1; 88, 203), on the fast breeder reactor in Kalkar (BVerfGE 49, 89), on the Co-Determination Act (BVerfGE 50, 290), on the European Treaties of Maastricht and Lisbon (BVerfGE 89, 155; 123, 267), on online searches (BVerfGE 120, 274), on Hartz IV (BVerfGE 125, 175), and on the European Banking Union (BVerfGE 151, 202).
