Summary
Ivan Baron Adamovich develops an economic model of constitution-making. This framework is applied to constitutional change in ten Central and Eastern European transition countries after 1989. It is shown that important features of the new constitutions are linked to the interests of the constitution-makers. Consequently, these constitutions can be read as maps shaped by the bargaining power of the constitution-makers.
