Summary
According to the New Testament, the Lord's Supper is to be held »in remembrance« of Christ. After introductory chapters about the Late Middle Ages and Erasmus, Dorothea Wendebourg deals with the motif of remembrance in the works of Martin Luther, Andreas Karlstadt, Huldrych Zwingli, Johannes Oekolampad and Philipp Melanchthon, the main first generation Continental Reformers. The respective liturgies also come into focus.
