Summary

The UNIDROIT-Principles for International Commercial Contracts and the General Principles of European Contract Law of the so-called Lando Commission may be the nucleus of a future European Contract Law if they get the approval of national contract laws. In January 1999 German contract law scholars discussed the compatibility of the General Principles with German contract law in a symposium held at the Max-Planck-Institute of Foreign Private and Private International Law. The book collects the papers delivered at that symposium.
