The second volume of this textbook continues to approach, understand, and explain law through context. Building on Volume I - which analyses the development of European integration, and the Union's institutions, actors, and procedures - Volume II deals with key areas of substantive EU constitutional law. It explains what it means to be a Community »under law«, and considers judicial remedies, the various aspects and tensions in the relationship between EU law and national law, as well as fundamental rights protection and Union citizenship.
