Although the Christian religion is practiced by individuals, an individual's faith remains void without social communication. The symbolic articulation of faith is mediated by a culture, and it depends on its collective presentation. The Christian religion is rooted in the subjective and the internal, but it also presses for expression and activity in the intersubjective. Both are not always congruent. This is precisely the reason that the correlation between individual and social issues attains a certain dynamic. Thus one person's faith goes hand in hand with demands made on others, and religion can influence other non-religious forms such as politics, science or education, or reveal itself in them. Religion has a hybrid character.
