Summary
The protection of classified information becomes particularly complex whenever private companies are involved, for example where they accept security-related orders from the state. These companies are then subject to certain confidentiality standards laid down in an official manual (Geheimschutzhandbuch). In this study, Gregor Thüsing and Christian Waldhoff explore the options for and limits to extending this governmental secrecy regime to private companies.
