The volume provides an introduction to the theological reflections on justice. From the perspective of various disciplines of Protestant theology (Old Testament, New Testament, church history, systematic theology, religious studies, practical theology) as well as ancient Near Eastern history of law the authors show developments in the history of theology, historical contexts and current discussions on justice. The articles, written by well-known experts in the field and closely related to each other, are supplemented by an overview of pivotal terms (law, justification, grace, mercy, divine judgment, theodicy) and basic issues of a theological discourse on justice as well as a synopsis which provides a critical evaluation of the individual articles.
