Summary
Achim Müller examines the various possibilities of taking evidence required for civil law proceedings in foreign jurisdictions within the European Union. He focuses his attention on regulation no. 1206/2001, which took effect on January 1, 2004. He describes the interests of the various parties concerned in cross-border taking of evidence and does a comparative study of the English, German, French and Danish laws pertaining to the procedure of taking evidence.
