Summary
This volume contains exegetical essays, dealing with two main subjects, written by Samuel Vollenweider between 1988 and 2002. He examines the origins of New Testament Christology in essays which focus on the relationship between monotheism and Christology, the early Jewish conceptions of wisdom as a background for the developing Christology, Jesus Christ as the image of God, death as atonement and the resurrection. He also deals with Jesus' vision of Satan's fall and the Anti-Judaism of the New Testament. His second main subject area has to do with individual aspects of Pauline theology. In addition to the apocalyptic view of life, the concept of the spirit, 'mysticism', anthropology and ecclesiology there are also special essays on Philippians and its christology. The book also contains english abstracts of all articles.
