Summary
Frank Daumann analyzes the influence of interest groups on the political process. He focuses on the formation of interest groups and their internal decision-making processes, and shows how their representatives use the political process to enforce these decisions. He develops an approach, based on methodological individualism, to explain the behavior of interest groups, and analyzes the deficits of the decision-making process in democracies caused by the intervention of interest groups. After evaluating the existing plans to improve the decision-making process in democracies, Frank Daumann outlines his own suggestions for reform.
