Summary
Cross-border consumer contracts are becoming more common in the era of the internet. The question of what court decides and what law applies is of special importance for consumers who are generally less experienced in international contracts and have less bargaining power. Niklas Ganssauge compares European and American law and draws the conclusion that the European law is generally more consumer-friendly than the corresponding American law.
