Robert Sieghörtner examines the developments in the international law of torts, dealing with traffic accidents in which there is a connection to a foreign country. He is in favor of taking the place of registration of the motor vehicle which caused the damage to the victim of the accident into consideration. However he goes beyond this and provides a fundamental analysis of the question of which legal system can be applied not only to the claim to liability between the victim and the person who caused the damage but also to the claims to third party liability insurance.
