Summary
The 2020 volume of the yearbook focuses on precedent as a characteristic of law. The respective section of the volume offers a comparative analysis of precedent, including the European Court of Human Rights, the Court of Justice of the European Union and a common law perspective on the developments in Germany. A second focus of the volume analyses the self-understanding and future perspectives of research on European Union law. This time the yearbook's part on comparative constitutional law is dedicated to developments in Spain, Poland, Hungary and Turkey, as well as to human rights developments in Islamic countries and analyses of the situations in Egypt between 2014 and 2019 and in Bolivia. The usual series of articles on general issues of public law and portraits of famous lawyers complete the volume.
