In this study, Torsten Jantsch examines Luke's concept of salvation by means of semantic and narrative analyses of Luke-Acts. He clarifies what, according to Luke, the elements of salvation are, and what the theological basis of his concept of salvation is. History of research has shown that these questions remain unanswered so far. The author argues that Luke develops Luke's concept of salvation by means of telling the story of the saviour Jesus. During the course of this narrative, the activity of Jesus during his earthly mission and his exaltation as ruler of Jews and Gentiles at God's right hand are connected. It is not the death of Jesus, but his position as heavenly ruler that effects salvation consisting in forgiveness of sins and resulting in eternal life.
