Summary
Johann Habermann's prayer book, published in 1567, was the most widely read and translated Protestant prayer book up to the time after the First World War. Traugott Koch interprets this and establishes its position in the history of the literature on prayer since the Middle Ages. In order to show the genuine Lutheran character of Habermann's theology, Traugott Koch examines all of his works, in particular his sermons or books of homilies.
