Summary
The two Johannine Sabbath conflict narratives in the Fourth Gospel correspond to the narrative genre of Juridical Controversy as found in the Old Testament. Martin Asiedu-Peprah examines those texts from a narrative-critical perspective. He determines the nature of the juridical metaphor and thus sheds new light on the meaning of the narratives.
