Summary
Philipp Heck was the founder of the jurisprudence of interests (Interessenjurisprudenz). In this work, Heinrich Schoppmeyer describes his life's work and shows his reasons for developing this system. In doing so, the author examines the system itself and its relationship to philosophy. He also studies the controversy surrounding legal methodology during the Third Reich and the role of the jurisprudence of interests in the postwar era. He concludes with a study of the present significance of the jurisprudence of interests against the backdrop of constitutional principles.
