Summary

The book is a survey of the character and influence of the medieval canon law, examined primarily from a practical point of view. The author's effort has been to show the inner nature of the classical law of the church, together with its practical effect in practice. He has paid particular attention to the role of the medieval and early modern jurists in its development and scope.
